WHAT THE HECK AM I DOING HERE AT 9 PM ON A FRIDAY?

Well, I'll tell you. I had a few, oh, let's just say: 'artistic bursts of drawing' this evening and I figured why not share them with you, cool? The first one is BATMAN. I was watching (as I do now since it's a new favorite show of mine) Batman: The Brave and the Bold and I just decided to homage him my style. So that's nice. Secondly, more in connection with the actual strip here is something of a redux, or maybe a 1.5 version, if you will. I was having a bit of a struggle with how the artwork is going with the comic and how, possibly, it ought to be going. I'm mulling it over, but the picture shows a possibility of a direction of the future. Anyway, any and all feedback is appreciated. Enjoy and see ya Sunday.

ISSUE 18

Good morning all. As we slam into our third Friday here at S.U., our little counter down there shows another steady increase from last week, and that is great. But you know what? I want more. Though I can only do so much on my own (such as social bookmarkers down there) we would love it if the readers we do have would spread the word or use the banner to link us to your own sites! It's not too much to hope that we could reach 1000 hits by this time next week! I know we can do it and, with my ability to seek out places to pimp our stuff and with a little help from our faithful followers, it should be no problem. Thanks again for all of you who continue to stop by on a daily basis and please, feel free to comment as often as you can: we love that, too! Oh, and about our little quiz down there... well, I honestly don't expect anyone to answer it as it is quite the obscure movie that, though in our libraries, most likely isn't in yours. It's called NECROVILLE and it is worth seeking out if you have the means. One more note before I stop lollygagging, and it's about Sunday's strip. Though it is written already, I may have something up my sleeve to make it just a hair different. We'll just have to see how it goes, but either way, it'll be really cool. Okay, have a great weekend and don't forget to drop by Sunday! Thanks!

ISSUE 17

Nothing does my heart better than to really get my writer's (and best pal's) script across on paper in such a way that he screams a hearty, 'GLEE!' over it. Sometimes, things just work out in everyone's favor. Oh, and before I go, I think this next strip (the first in the COFFEE CONUNDRUM) is one of my favorites and shows just how far I've come in such little time. Enjoy, everyone and don't forget the contest!

A Brief Note From The Writer

I wanted to comment on the newest strip (Issue 16). This is my favorite srtip at this point. The first panel is funny because I don't see either Stew or myself ever playing miniature golf, let alone enjoying it to the extent that our drawn counterparts are. The second panel has us watching one of my favorite, new indie flicks that I can't mention the name of because of the contest mentioned below, with Crow T. Robot and Tom Servo! How cool is that? And finally, any strip where you can end it with the line; 'Shh, Boobies', is gold, baby! I like that last panel so much that I might have to convince Stew to make it color and use it for our first t-shirt design.
Thank you for your time and now, on with the show!!

ISSUE 16

Good morning, friends, fans, and femme fatales (Illiteration Rox!), here we have the FINAL INSULT: CREATING A WEB COMIC before we move on to a WHOLE NEW STORY ARC, and man, is it gonna be good! Okay, so that's about all I have left to say. Enjoy!

**** UPDATE * UPDATE  * UPDATE ****

Okay, here's our first official QUIZ-O-RAMA! If someone (anyone but DOUG) can correctly guess the name of the film we're watching there in the middle panel, you can win A PIECE OF ORIGINAL ART WORK EMAILED DIRECTLY TO YOU POST HASTE! Now that IS cool! Get on it y'all!

ISSUE 15

Happy Tuesday, everyone! Now that I know Sunday's strip will be in color, I have done a few new drawings including -with her blessings- my wife! It's gonna be sweet! I have the basic story etched out, too, but I'll keep that a surprise... for now. Enjoy today's strip! See ya tomorrow!

ISSUE 14

It's official kids, 500! Look, we're not going to stop pouring over our little numbers growing ever larger, so just get used to it; you're the ones who made it all possile and you must know you deserve to hear about it. Ok, so enough of that. Doug and I spoke at length this week about doing a color strip for Sunday (any Sunday, not necessarily this coming one), but I have decided to go ahead with it. Sunday's strip will be color and, as yet, is un-made so thus far it's a surprise to even me. Stay tuned! Okay, enough jabber, enjoy the CONTINUING CREATION OF A WEB COMIC!

WELCOME TO THE WONDERFUL WORLD OF COLOR!

No, the strip isn't going color and probaboly won't. For a while. For a long while. There! Enough waffling. Anyway, Stew-Man did his color magic on the banner above and it looks far out and groovy. I did want our erstwhile readers to know that the big red beard that I sport is not too far from the truth. I also want to thank all the people digging the comic as we almost have 500 hits and we are just on week three beginning today. Soon it will be t-shirts and strip collections and magic ponys. Well, okay, not magic ponys. At least not for a while. Okay, a long while. I have got to stop doing that!
Anyway, thanks to all, keep reading and keep an eye out for magic ponys. (I'm kidding. You hope.)

ISSUE 13

Good morning fans and readers! We have officially reached the Friday of the second week and our little counter down there pegs us right about 425, that's slightly better than this time last week! I just felt a little tear well up in my left eye. I am so geeked that our little comic bobbing along in the deep blue web ocean is managing to keep its head above water (And that's about all the 'swimming' metaphors I can handle). Thanks one and all for stopping by and saying hi. Now, I do have a confession to make: Doug sends me a script list for the new week's comics on Sunday so I can get a good look at them and plan the artwork accordingly. Now, these past 2 strips have been on my own, which doesn't mean that Doug wasn't involved in some fashion, it's just that, sometimes, an idea gets wedged in my head that I can't shake and I need to make it a comic. Anyway, just so you know, the effort (as Doug so eloquently pointed out in his entry below) is completely collaborative. And I see he mentions the possibility of a color Sunday strip. Hmmm...

See ya Monday and have a great weekend!

Add to Mixx!

GREETINGS ALL!

With the exception of a quick comment in a previous post, I have remained pretty quiet on this site. I hope everyone is enjoying what I write and Stew draws. Of course it's much more collaborative than that, but it works. Coming up on our second week and the fact that we are getting over two hundred hits a week tells me that we must be doing something right. It's scary trying something new, but I think that this is something that will be around for a long while.
I have heard that webcomics can hit the 33rd strip and then die for a number of reasons. I don't see that happening to us.
Thanks to everyone who reads the strip, a special thanks to our single follower (Hi Holger!) and keep coming back Monday through Friday for some serious fun.
Who knows? Maybe I can talk Stew into a color Sunday comic sometime in the near future.
Did you hear that?
That was the sound of an artist screaming, NOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!.
I kill me.
Oh and the reason I didn't just post this with the comic is that apparently, if Stew uploads it I can't add on to any of the posts. Just in case you were wondering.

More adventures with Addison! As I sit -well, the comic me, anyway- plugging away at some new drawings while Addie continues to *ahem* bother me. Have a good laugh on me! See ya tomorrow!

ISSUE 11

HI! It's me! How's it going? That's good. Right... where was I. Oh yeah, here's the new comic featuring: HARD AT WORK ON A WEBCOMIC PART II! Here we see Stew (that's me) doing some art work at home just as his rather cinical and inquisitive 3-year old (That's Addison) questions his sanity and motives at the same time. HA! Oh, and Amy is my actual wife soon to make an illustrated appearance. Enjoy!

HARD AT WORK ON A WEBCOMIC (OFFICIALLY) DAY 1: Finally, it has come to this: Honest to goodness work finally being done on our fair characters webcomic! It's a LARF! Enjoy!

ISSUE 9

Happy MLK Day, everyone! Boy, talk about 'Living the Dream', tomorrow is Inauguration Day for Obama going in with the highest approval rating of any modern day President at 70%! Compare that to Bush's 8 years ago at 48%... and there ya go. Anyway, enjoy the continuing saga of the web comic creation!

ISSUE 8

Wow, everyone! Somehow you wonderful readers have made our little, insignificant comic reach 200 viewers in its first week! It may sound little, but that's 200 bits from folks who found our comic worthwhile. Thanks all, have a great weekend, and we'll see you with all new fresh funnies Monday!

ISSUE 6

Six Issues already? Holy snot, we're really rollin' along here, aren't we? Anyway, this particular comic takes place at Doug's house with the disembodied voice of his wonderful wife, Martha (Hi again, sweety!). As you can see, Doug here is still quite opposed to the proposition of creating a web comic which, as we all know, has it's up's and down's. So far so good in the real world, and I'd like to take a few seconds to say thanks to everyone who have been reading along and especially Holger down there who's even following us -for some reason- thanks again! See ya all tomorrow!

After just seeing a particular film by one Kevin Smith featuring a Zack and a Miri, I thought this joke was particularly timely and a damn bit o' funny. Hope ya like it! Bye!

ISSUE 4

Follow along, won't you, as we delve ever deeper into the prospect of creating a web comic and its very trials and tribulations. Weep openly as Doug and his wife (Hi Martha!) exchange loving, yet stern, banter before a meal. Swoon at the shadow placement! It's all so WONERFUL!

ISSUE 3

Hey kids! Yeah, I totally flaked out on yesterday's comic. Blame the weather here in the winter Mitten, because that's what I'm gonna do. Anyway, as you will surely notice, today's comic has some nice detail and lighting effects! See, cuz we're in a bar! Suspend a little disbelief, will ya? It's a damn comic... and a fine funny one, too. See ya tomorrow!

YEAH! Now, isn't THAT better? So, I revamped a few things, mixed a bit of stuff up, and overall made some magic happen! I sure hope you dig the first issue and stay tuned for one each day this weekend Fri-Sun until we go to a 5-day format. Laugh out loud and scare that person next to you, it's ok!
